Aegis began as a group of close friends from different guilds who enjoyed gaming
together, and began to conquer anything and everything Trion could throw at them. With this drive, some of the first Guardian progression raiding began to happen on the Faeblight shard.

Unfortunately, as the game progressed, Aegis lost a core group of its raiders when their
own guilds began to get to the point where they could begin to tackle raid content on their own. As it became harder and harder to fill raid spots with competent people, the once great raiding community began to halt on its progression. Aegis had for a short period, fallen into a state of limbo.

As luck would have it however, the drive of progression was still strong in several
members, but it would take dedication from all of the remaining members, and the willingness for certain people to step up and assume responsibilities they had never had to do in the past. From this shred of hope, the guild known as Aegis was born!


Rules

• Aegis, although not strictly a hardcore progression guild, does have expectations for our members to be competent, drama free, knowledgeable, active, courteous, committed to conquering all content, and most of all fun people.

• You must have the ability to use Ventrilo, or whatever voice chat we may be using at the time (at least to listen, although a working microphone is a big plus). On that note, you must also have the ability to keep your mouth shut during a boss fight unless you are asked to speak.

• You may be asked to carry certain specs/roles for raiding. Understand, your "oh so neat” spec that does five hundred less DPS than other standard specs does not make you unique, but rather a burden to the other nineteen people in the raid whose shoulders are tired from having to carry you all night.

• We expect all members of the raid team, to be prepared at raid time with all consumables, full soul vitality, planar charges, health/mana potions, etc.

• We normally carry a roster that exceeds the raid member limit. With this in mind, please understand you probably will, at some point, be asked to bench. This is not permanent by any means, but a step to ensure everyone has an adequate opportunity to see raid content. On that note, being a somewhat progressive guild, we do expect our raid members to be somewhat progressive in their characters in order to maintain a raid spot. Example being Warriors A, B, C and D are in the same gear, Warriors A, B, and C do on average four hundred higher DPS than Warrior D, but Warrior D has yet to ask for any assistance, this will cost Warrior D a raid slot until they make an effort into improvement. If people make an effort though it will most definitely be noticed and rewarded.


Attendance

We are not as strict on attendance as some of the other progression guilds out there, but we do expect to know if you will be away for a day(s), unable to raid at certain times, or even if you will have will have to take an extended leave of absence if you are a part of our raid team.


People That Do Not Belong in Aegis

• If you need a reminder to not stand in the fire, you probably don’t belong in this guild.

• If you get a de-buff that will cause others around you to die, and you don’t know to move or stop attacking unless someone specifically calls out your name, you probably don’t belong in this guild.

• If you can’t stop from pulling threat off the tank because you want to have awesome DPS numbers, so you attack as soon as the tank launches their initial pull, you probably don’t belong in this guild.

• If you can’t stack with others in one spot on the fights where it is needed, you probably don’t belong in this guild.

• If you are offended when a mage wins a new staff and someone mentions, "that is a big staff” in guild chat or Ventrilo, and a fellow guild member says, "That’s What She Said”, you probably don’t belong in this guild.


Loot Distribution

We use a loot council for the majority of all progression loot, although some items such as the hexed armor pieces from Hammerknell will be handed out for the most part by a loot ladder system.  Factors affecting the decision of the loot council will be the raids greatest benefit, attendance, attitude, guild involvement, etc. When a piece of loot drops, the master looter will ask for bids from raiders to whom the item is an upgrade for main specs. If you are interested, just let us know in raid chat by typing out a number one. If it is not an upgrade for anybody within the raid it will go to off spec rolls.


Recruitment

Although we may have closed recruitment at times, we do not want to turn any talented players away. If this is your case, feel free to post an application should recruitment to your class be closed, but understand you may not have a guaranteed raid spot.]]>
